Recycled Li-ion Wind/Solar Power Station
After noticing the sheer number of rechargeable 18650 Li-ion batteries that outlive the products they are used in and are then discarded into landfills, I decided to try to recycle the cells into a low-cost battery bank that I paired with a small wind turbine. After harvesting the cells from damaged E-scooters and testing them for capacity, internal resistance, and quality, I assembled them into two robust battery banks (one solar, one wind) with capacities of 30Ah and equipped with USB ports and 110V outlets.
