Interactive Wind Tunnel Exhibit
For my Cornerstone of Engineering 2 final project, I designed and built an interactive wind tunnel exhibit that teaches children ages 6-11 about the aerodynamics of wind turbines. The wind tunnel allows users to cut their own propeller blades from cardstock, slide them into a premade propeller hub, and test their aerodynamic efficiency. Each trial is graphed on a display in real time, showing the propeller's power output at different wind speeds and ranking each propeller against others that have been tested. The exhibit was built with low-cost reproducibility in mind and designed to be assembled from 3D-printed parts without specialized tools.
